Malibu's Top Chefs Dish up the Holidays!
Tra di Noi Ristorante
"Italian eatery Tra di Noi is one of Malibu's most popular eateries and Executive Chef Francesco Velasco is a big part of it's enduring popularity."
"Velasco describes his menu as 'cucina autentica' or authentic italian cooking prepared with passion. His pastas are handmade daily and he makes what many consider to be the tastiest pizza in town. He searches for the freshest cuts of meat and fish, and pairs them with winter staples like leeks, artichokes, wild mushrooms, eggplant and green beans.
For Velasco, the secret to the holidays is 'cooking from the heart'."

"There
is a place however, just off the coast of Malibu that brings the essence
of Italy to California. Tra di Noi, a small Italian bistro nestled in the
Country Mart shopping center of Malibu, serves some of the most
delicious authentic Italian cuisine around, and tops it all off with a
warm, comfortable and understated ambiance"
"For an entree, the show-stealer goes to the Orecciette. This meal of conchigle pasta smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce made with Pecorino-Romano cheese and black pepper, is topped with mushrooms, peas and black truffles. The al dente pasta tastes so wonderful it feels sinful, and yet the sauce is made with no cream! For meat lovers there is a tremendously tender entree of short ribs with gnocci and for lamb lovers the menu offers a luscious ossobuco." Andralee Offidani CSQ Magazine Q3 2008

"I admit it. I am
an Italian food snob.
The legend of
Tra Di Noi in Malibu had eluded me for years. I had heard about the
restaurant that had endured the
high expectations of the community and still managed to be labeled the best Italian food inside city limits.
Tarcisio Mosconi is the man behind the curtain that is Tra Di Noi. Mosconi does the seemingly impossible: He makes every customer feel welcome. “This is a family to me. I’ve seen people come in with their small kids and years later these kids come in here on their first date". Tra Di Noi is an easy destination for gourmands. For those who want true decadence, look no further than the white truffle risotto (A fave of Malibu Magazine Publisher Mia Dinelly). Once you’ve tasted the risotto or the house tagliolini with white truffle sauce, you’ll soon be quick to agree it’s priceless. As for my opinion of Tra Di Noi, I think I’m going to be a regular. I love the coziness of the interior, the soft lighting, the sound of laughter mixed with clanking forks.A girl could get used to this kind of treatment. Now if only we can talk them into valet".
